Location: Jacksonville, FL

Reports To: Resident Supervisor

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $74,000 - $84,000

Position Overview:

Join our team as a Resident Adjuster in beautiful Jacksonville, FL , and play a pivotal role in the claims process. You will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and efficiently resolving property claims for homeowners in the area. This role requires in-depth technical knowledge of property damage assessment, a keen understanding of policy language, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service. Working closely with policyholders and internal teams, you’ll ensure that claims are handled promptly and accurately, with a focus on delivering top-tier results that reflect the company’s core values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claim Investigation: Conduct on-site inspections of damaged properties, including homes, condos, and commercial buildings, to assess the extent of the loss. Gather crucial documentation such as photographs, statements from policyholders, and witness reports.
  • Policy Review & Coverage Determination: Review insurance policies to determine coverage, exclusions, and limitations. Apply the policy language to the facts at hand, ensuring precise and fair claim eligibility determination.
  • Claim Estimation: Use Xactimate to prepare thorough, accurate repair cost estimates for damaged properties, ensuring fairness and accuracy in the assessment.
  • Customer Communication: Maintain consistent and professional communication with policyholders throughout the claims process. Provide clear and detailed explanations of coverage, claims procedures, and settlement options to help clients navigate the process.
  • Settlement Negotiation: Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and third-party professionals to negotiate fair repair costs and settlement figures in alignment with policy terms.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed records of investigations, communications, and claim determinations. Prepare comprehensive reports for internal use and regulatory compliance.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the claims team, legal counsel, and other departments to ensure smooth claim processing and resolution.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Stay updated on the latest state regulations, company guidelines, and industry best practices. Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Licensing: Must possess a valid Florida 5-20 or 6-20 Insurance Adjuster License .
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of property adjusting experience in residential claims. Familiarity with Florida insurance regulations and guidelines is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance policies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Xactimate 28.0 and Xactimate Sketch .
  • Knowledge of residential construction and repair processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Professionalism and a customer service-oriented mindset.

Physical & Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to work in the field, which may include climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and navigating damaged properties.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation for local travel to claims sites.
