Since 1969, Lakeside has been the premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid-South region. The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospital in the United States.  We are located on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors. Job Description

The Unit Clerk creates a safe environment for patients, saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers patients, and teaches new tools for coping to patients . The Unit Clerk provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities include administrative and clerical duties on nursing units.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field highly preferred; or high school diploma.

Experience: One-year experience working with a psychiatric patient population preferred.

Knowledge: Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred.
