Job Summary and Qualifications

· Coordinates and/or performs a variety of staff development functions to include: department specific needs assessment, development of goals and objectives, implementation methods, evaluation measures and instruction of education activities · Provides education support for staff, with emphasis given to assigned service line development · Interprets the guidelines for the continuing respiratory education based upon professional practice guidelines · Collaborates with Education to identify needs and plan education activities to enhance professional growth · Recognizes the role of the Clinical Educator in internship development and process improvement, as assigned · Limited committee and special projects, when appropriate · Acts as role model for high quality clinical skills · Implements the strategic plan of the department

What qualifications you will need:

• · Bachelor’s degree required, MS preferred. 
• · Graduated from an accredited school for respiratory care recognized by NBRC 
• · Three or more years of direct patient care in the type of clinical area assigned 
• · One or more years as a Respiratory Educator or extended history of initiative in education projects/programs .These requirements may be deferred at the discretion of the department director
• · Credentialed as an RRT
•  · Licensed by the Texas Department of Health as a Respiratory Care Practitioner 
• · Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider
