Position Wellness Coach- LifeFit Wellness Center

Description The LifeFit Wellness Coach is responsible for exercise prescription, team involvement, and case management of the participants in the LifeFit Wellness Program. The Wellness Coach may also on occasion be assigned responsibilities with the Phase II LifeFit Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs and additional LifeFit programs as designated. The Wellness Coach will provide education on the importance of risk factor modification for the primary and secondary prevention of vascular, lung and other chronic diseases. The Wellness Coach will be responsible for assessing client needs, goal setting, and facilitating the client's progress through the coordination of various resources. The Wellness Coach will be responsible for general supervision of the fitness area as assigned and expected to provide proper leadership, monitoring and group/individual client direction as indicated. The Wellness Coach will act as an interdisciplinary team member in the provision of services, contribution to service line process improvement and program development.
Position Requirements Education: - BS in Exercise Science/ Exercise Physiology or related Health Sciences Degree preferred.
Experience: - Experience in chronic disease risk factor assessment and stratification, lifestyle modification education, preferred. Prior experience with personal training and/or teaching group fitness classes, required.
Certifications/Licenses: - BLS certification required prior to first clinical shift. At least one certification preferred. Acceptable certifications include but are not limited to: ACSM Personal Trainer or Exercise Physiologist.
