Job Summary

The Wastewater Operator oversees all wastewater operations at the facility. Monitors & controls water flows and processes through plant equipment and in biological systems. Performs test, maintenance, etc. to ensure proper operation of all wastewater related equipment. Other duties as assign by Plant Manager.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Oversees wastewater system
• Proper operation of plant skimmers.
• Chemical inventory maintained throughout wastewater treatment processes.
• Perform wastewater tests as needed.
• Proper operation of DAF
• Control flows throughout wastewater treatment processes
• Daily review & cleaning of all wastewater areas
• Help maintenance with projects or work in area of responsibility.
• Proper operation of disinfection system.
• Scheduling and lead of all shifts and direction with over time and weekend work under the direction of Plant Manager.
• Excel Based computer skills for daily testing and recorded results.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Willing to obtain wastewater certificate
• Minimun 1-year prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be a self-starter and stay busy with constructive work with little supervision.
• Experience in a rendering facility or production environment. (Waste Water Treatment Plant Operation)
• Good penmanship
• Good with math.
• Good oral communication skills.

Physical Demands

• Frequently lifts up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing and crawling.

Work Environment

Outside in all types of weather. Hot and humid in plant. In and around and working with moving parts and equipment.
