TIG Welder

Job Description

Join our dynamic welding team and contribute to the manufacture and marketing of auto parts. Our products include mufflers, silencers, exhaust tubes, and hydraulic assemblies. We offer a supportive work environment with opportunities for growth and development.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel components.
• Interpret and work from blueprints and welding symbols.
• Prepare materials and set up welding equipment prior to welding.
• Ensure the quality and strength of welds through diligent inspection and adherence to safety standards.
• Work efficiently in various welding positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
• Operate welding machines and tools, ensuring minimal distortion or warping.
• Comply with OSHA regulations and other safety standards related to welding.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in TIG welding techniques.
• Experience with welding materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Strong understanding of welding safety precautions and OSHA regulations.
• Capability to work 50 hours per week and pass a MIG/TIG weld test.
• Possession of a welding helmet and gloves.

Work Environment

• Work in a large, clean warehouse spanning 256,000 square feet, where safety is the top priority.
• Each welder is provided with an individual booth equipped with a snorkel system to vacuum welding debris.
• While all personal protective equipment is provided, candidates are required to have their own welding helmet and gloves.
• Choose from various departments such as Sheet Metal, Tubular, and Prove Design (Fabrication & TIG).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
