BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking a Technical Writer/Editor for both MD area as well as PA area. These positions are full-time, remote role with travel to other Government or Contractor facilities as required in PA and MD. The average workday is 8 hours and the window in which those 8 hours may be scheduled is between 6:00am hours and 6:00pm hours eastern time, Monday through Friday except for Government Holidays with the core hours (9am to 3pm) being covered.
The Technical Writer/Editor assists in collecting and organizing information for the preparation of user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports. your responsible for translating application requirements into web-based solutions and implementing emerging technologies within the software development process. This role supports the Government's mission by delivering reliable and efficient software applications, using modern internet protocols and advanced technologies.
Key Responsibilities : This individual is responsible for performing the following tasks:
- Editing functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables or document
- Conducting research and ensuring the use of proper technical terminology
- Translating technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non- technical personnel
- Using the standard help compiler to prepare all on-line documentation (for applications built to run in a Windows environment)
- Assisting in performing financial and administrative functions
Basic Qualifications :
- This position requires an Associates Degree in related field. (Note: A Bachelors degree is preferred.)
Specialized Experience: - The proposed candidate must have at least two (2) years of experience in preparing and editing documents, including technical documents. This individual must also be able to conduct research for applicable standards.
Preferred Qualifications :
- The proposed candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience in this area and must demonstrate the ability to work independently, or under only general direction.
U.S. Citizenship Requirement: This position is restricted to
U.S. citizens only in accordance with federal contract requirements. Applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship (such as a U.S. passport, birth certificate, or Certificate of Naturalization) prior to employment. Non-citizens, including lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders), are not eligible for this role.
