The Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing test strategies for a modern digital information system and its integration with internal and external applications. This includes creating test plans, performing functional and unit testing, providing expertise in test automation, and assisting other team members with testing activities.
Location:Ontario, Canada
Responsibilities:
- Develop test strategy, test approach, and test plan.
- Prepare test cases for functional/unit testing.
- Perform functional/unit testing and document results.
- Provide expertise and support for test automation (plan, approach, and implementation).
- Assist other teams with testing activities (e.g., UAT, recreating production issues).
- Participate in knowledge transfer activities.
- Defect tracking using a collaborative tool to manage defects and change requests.
- Develop test plans, test scripts and test data; documenting software defects and tracking resolutions.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 7+ years of experience in Testing and Quality Assurance of Cloud-based enterprise scale digital products.
- Solid testing experience in API and Integration testing.
- Strong QA experience in browser-based digital products.
- Knowledge in Accessibility / AODA compliance.
- Knowledge in Performance and Stress Test.
- Hands-on technical skills & experience in test automation (e.g., using Selenium tool, SoapUI, Postman, etc).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Knowledge in test automation engineering practice/process.
- Experience with User Acceptance Testing and leading initial UAT sessions.
- Good analytical and communication skills.
- Hands on experiences with technologies such as SharePoint, Web Services, .NET Web, HTML, JavaScript
- Knowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development & Product Management Life Cycle
- Demonstrated experience documenting and tracking testing and issue tracking systems such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Asana.
- Previous experience working in Government or Public Sector organizations.
Special Considerations:
- Onsite work is required.
Scheduling:
- 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday, sometime between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (excluding breaks).
