Summary As a Supervisory Equal Opportunity Investigator at the GS-1860-15, the incumbent of this position serves as Deputy District Director and shares in the overall responsibility of the District. The incumbent is primarily responsible for the supervision and coordination, through subordinate supervisors of the enforcement functions of the District.

Duties - Coordinates, monitors, and provides overall supervision of the investigation of all charges filed in the District Office, Field Office, Area Office and Local Office.
- Oversees the Charge Receipt/Technical Information Unit which provides administrative and technical support to the enforcement units for the service of notices, conduct of counseling, pre-charge interviewing and receipt of inquiries.
- Supervisory responsibility for the Enforcement Units which plan and conduct detailed and comprehensive investigations of charges of employment discrimination from planning through investigation to analysis of findings and reporting of results.
- Oversees the Systemic Unit which reviews and recommends appropriate subjects for in-depth investigation of alleged pattern and practice employment discrimination.
- Ensures that cases in the District are being investigated expeditiously, that quality standards are uniformly maintained, that appropriate theories of law are applied, and that time frames are met.
- Provides oversight of negotiated settlements and conciliation agreements between EEOC and respondents. Provides administrative oversight in handling noncompliance as appropriate.

Qualifications For the GS-15: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Specialized experience may include experience enforcing federal employment discrimination laws as they pertain to private sector employers; developing and/or managing long-range plans, strategies, and goals of investigative and enforcement programs; and experience supervising and coordinating through subordinate supervisors of day-to-day operations.
Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS- 15 level.
