Staff Accountant Location: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm; Hybrid work available on Mondays and Fridays
\n Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
\n Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 annually
\n Reporting To: Jill Hercules, Supervisor, and Carmen, Accounting Manager
\n Overview:
\nWe are seeking a motivated and analytical Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role offers growth opportunities, including potential advancement into managerial positions. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for analyzing financial information, preparing reports, and supporting various business partners with budgeting and financial analysis. Interactions with internal teams, external partners, customers, vendors, and ITW Corporate personnel are frequent.
\n Key Responsibilities: \n

    \n\t
  • Prepare, examine, reconcile, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.\n\t
  • Manage the general ledger system including account maintenance, month/quarter-end procedures, and account reconciliations.\n\t
  • Transform financial data into meaningful reports and recommendations for management.\n\t
  • Serve as a business partner to commercial and operations teams, providing support through expense reporting and budget vs. actual analysis.\n\t
  • Participate in annual business and long-range planning, particularly departmental expense budgeting.\n\t
  • Match, code, and post customer payments to the Accounts Receivable ledger.\n\t
  • Oversee financial aspects of the company’s vehicle fleet, including insurance, maintenance, and leases; conduct training for new hires.\n\t
  • Assist internal and external auditors during audit engagements.\n\t
  • Support process documentation review and financial documentation maintenance.\n\t
  • Ensure strong internal control procedures in accordance with ITW Financial Policy and US GAAP.\n\t
  • Lead or assist in projects focused on continuous improvement, using 80/20, PLS, and USa principles and supporting the ITW toolbox.\n
\n Qualifications:
\n Education: \n\n
    \n\t
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting.\n\t
  • CPA qualification or working towards CPA is preferred.\n
\n Experience: \n\n
    \n\t
  • 1–2 years of professional accounting experience in a related field; audit experience is a plus.\n\t
  • Previous experience with ERP systems is advantageous.\n
\n Skills: \n\n
    \n\t
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.\n\t
  • Excellent organizational, data entry, and problem-solving abilities.\n\t
  • Capable of working independently and meeting deadlines.\n\t
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt to a dynamic work environment.\n\t
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite.\n\t
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.\n\t
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.\n\t
  • Knowledge of US GAAP reporting requirements and their practical application.\n

  • Ability to travel for training, operational visits, and meetings as needed.\n\t
  • Physically able to perform standard office activities, including typing, sitting, talking, and hearing.\n
\n Department Size:
\nThe Accounting Department consists of 5–6 team members. The previous incumbent successfully transitioned to a new career path after four years in the role.
