Position Overview:  
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist with a specialization in Protein Science and Analytics, and a passion for cutting-edge research and innovation in ultrasensitive immunoassays. This role is perfect for an individual with deep domain expertise in protein characterization, purification, who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of protein bioconjugation techniques, analytical characterization, and protein engineering. As a Senior Scientist, you will contribute to the development and optimization of methods that enable immunoassay product development and characterization, working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including CDMOs. 

Key Responsibilities:  

• Synthesize bioconjugates using established chemistries, contribute to the development of new bioconjugation methodologies, and optimize protein and antibody conjugation and purification methods using advanced chromatography techniques (size exclusion, ion exchange, affinity, and hydrophobic interaction). 

• Characterize protein or bioconjugates using analytical techniques including UV/Vis, fluorescence, HPLC, and mass spectrometry (MS), and support quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) efforts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). 

• Engage with OEM partners for protein engineering, antibody production, and enzyme production, and participate in inspection readiness and regulatory compliance activities. 

• Train team members in laboratory procedures, experiment design, and data analysis, while fostering a culture of learning and innovation through mentoring and leadership. 

• Stay current with advancements in protein science, conduct literature reviews, and lead or support the development of novel methodologies and techniques. 

Required Qualifications:  

• Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Protein Science, or a related field with 3+ years of extensive, hands-on experience; or M.S. with 7+ years of extensive, hands-on experience in protein characterization and purification.

• Proficiency in bioconjugation methodologies, analytical characterization, and protein engineering techniques. 

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects. 

• Experience working with CDMOs and OEM partners in protein and antibody production. 

• Experience with ultrasensitive immunoassays, including assay development and validation a plus
