Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Merced, CA is seeking a skilled Counselor to support students academic, social, and emotional development. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing personal, social, and academic concerns
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administration to develop intervention strategies and support plans
• Conduct assessments and develop plans to enhance student well-being and academic success
• Facilitate crisis intervention and conflict resolution when necessary
• Promote a positive and inclusive school climate through outreach and student engagement activities
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with district and state regulations

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid counseling certification or credential appropriate for K-12 education
• Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of counseling techniques, child development, and mental health issues
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of confidentiality and ethical standards in school counseling

Location: Merced, California
