Position Overview:
As a Residential Mortgage Underwriter at Reliant Home Funding, you will play a key role in reviewing and analyzing residential mortgage loan applications. You will ensure compliance with company guidelines and make well-informed decisions to mitigate risk, while ensuring a smooth process for our clients. The position involves working closely with our loan processing and sales teams to assess documentation and determine eligibility for loan approval or denial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and evaluate residential mortgage loan applications, including credit reports, income documentation, property appraisals, and other relevant documents
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and investor guidelines
• Make timely and accurate decisions regarding loan approvals or denials
• Collaborate with loan officers, processors, and other team members to resolve any issues or discrepancies
• Stay up-to-date with mortgage lending guidelines and industry trends
• Effectively communicate underwriting decisions and loan status to clients and internal teams
• Adapt to and utilize the latest industry technology, including AI-driven underwriting processes, to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Residential Mortgage Underwriter
• In-depth knowledge of mortgage lending regulations, guidelines, and best practices
• Strong understanding of credit analysis, income verification, and property appraisals
• Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to and efficiently use AI-powered underwriting technology and systems

What We Offer:
