About the role:

We're looking for a talented and nimble Motion Designer to join our Design team. This person is someone who exhibits good taste, is comfortable working through creative iterations in a speedy fashion, and is eager to jump in on a variety of video and animation projects. You'll join the design team and work cross-functionally with engineering and creative teams to develop our AI Edit styles. This is an extremely unique opportunity to design the look & feel of how millions of videos will be edited.

Our ideal candidate has a strong mix of 2D and 3D motion design skills - with a knack for pacing, sound design, and visual design - and is comfortable leading any stage of the creative motion design process.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a highly cross-functional role, working closely with members of the Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams. This includes:
  • Designing high-quality motion graphics, titles, and animations for a variety of projects.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to develop motion design systems, styles and concepts for video editing templates.
  • Partnering with product design to imbue motion, animation and delight across our product suite.
  • Contributing to the launch of unreleased products through motion design.
  • Refreshing and updating existing projects, graphics, and templates to stay current with industry trends.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, Visual Effects preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-7 years of professional experience as a motion designer or interaction designer.
  • Proven track record of creating motion graphics, titles, and animations for various platforms including digital, broadcast, and social media.
  • Proficiency Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premier Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Figma.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D motion design; knowledge of Lottie/ RIVE/ Cinema 4D and Blender is a plus!
  • Prior experience working with product or engineering teams is highly preferred!
  • Strong grasp of design, composition, typography, and layout principles.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design, systems thinking, information hierarchy, and user flow.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
  • Efficient project management in a fast paced, high volume environment.
  • Strong Communication and collaboration skills.
