Summary Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Does this position require Patient Care? No Education Bachelor's Degree in Science, psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or related fields. We are particularly interested in individuals with clinical experience with patients with either a chronic medical illness or bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder who are looking to gain experience in a research setting, or vice versa. No Licenses and Credentials Experience Some relevant research project work 0-1 year preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent interpersonal skills for working with study teams and research participants. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work well with others in a team environment. Analytical skills to resolve technical or research problems and interpret data results. Knowledge of clinical research protocols. Careful attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks. High computer literacy, including MS Office suite and database tools. Professionalism and respect for participant confidentiality and diverse collaborators' needs. Knowledge of data management programs. Essential Functions Assist with clinical research studies according to study guidelines and protocols. Recruit patients for clinical trials, including phone interviews and scheduling visits and screenings. Verify and update study forms per protocol. Interact with study subjects, providing education, procedural instructions, and follow-up; may serve as liaison between patients and physicians. Collect data and maintain patient information databases; input data, perform basic analysis, and generate reports. Mail study information or packets to participants as needed. Respond to phone inquiries regarding study protocols and refer participants to supervisors or clinical staff when appropriate. Set up and monitor equipment as required.
