Job Title: Principal Engineer
Duration: 12 Months of contract position (Possible extension up to 2 years)
Shift M-F (onsite T/W/Th)
Location: Batesville IN 47006
Pay rate range : $42.00 - $63.00 per on w2 without benefits/ PTO/vacation off
Non Local Candidates required to relocate.
Job Description:
Must Haves:
• knowledge of coated fabric composition and manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of chemical compatibility related to polyurethane coated fabrics
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment
• Best practices experience designing soft goods including foam
• Experience designing RF welded and sewn assemblies
Bachelor's degree required: yes - Master's is a plus
• 5-10 years of experience
Nice to Have:
• Specialization in textiles
• Design Control and Product development per 21 CFR Part 820
JOB SUMMARY:
• Utilizes knowledge of textiles, foam, and chemicals to provide technical contribution to surface and material performance. Supports requirements, analysis, detailed design and verification activities for an assigned product, project or solution. Provides guidance to other engineers on design best practices and technical issue resolution, engages in design reviews, and helps resolve problems of medium complexity.

• Identifies technical problems, provides innovative, creative solutions; shares technical knowledge with team.
• Incorporates business, market, industry and competitive knowledge into technical solutions that can be readily adapted to changes in technology and/or clinical use.
• Generates alternatives and takes reasonable risks while solving technical problems.
• Completes detailed, high quality technical documentation to capture and communicate designs.
• Seeks knowledge of the business, market, industry and competitive environment.
• Uses existing tools and best practices to report and track product and process metrics.
• Challenges project teams and established work processes and proactively finds creative methods to reach desired performance levels.
• Informs others proactively about developments or issues that affect their work, and their ability to meet commitments.
• Ability to deliver according to project schedules and communicate status.
• Other duties may be assigned.
UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Knowledge of coated fabric composition and manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of chemical compatibility related to polyurethane coated fabrics
• Experience designing soft goods including foam
• Experience designing RF welded and sewn assemblies
• Understanding of statistical techniques used to generate sampling requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment
• Ability to adapt to change.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Textiles or Engineering or local equivalent of same; generally, 5-10 years of experience. Specialization in textiles is a plus.
