Hands-on Maintenance Supervisor responsible for overseeing daily corrective and preventative maintenance for production equipment—including blending, pre-weigh, filling, packaging, and HVAC—while ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment. Supervises Maintenance Technicians across two shifts, manages scheduling around production needs, and upholds all maintenance standards and procedures.
Establish, implement, and maintain maintenance SOPs and standards.
Coordinate maintenance schedules to support production and minimize downtime.
Monitor department performance and ensure timely completion of PM/CM tasks.
Maintain equipment databases, manage parts/tool purchasing, and produce accurate reports.
Ensure maintenance areas meet safety, cleanliness, and regulatory requirements.
Identify training needs, coach technicians, and support skill development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet quality, productivity, and safety goals.
Communicate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely service.
Resolve maintenance issues quickly using available staff and resources.
Operate forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts as needed; act as a hands-on supervisor.
Promote strong employee relations, maintain open communication, and administer discipline fairly
High school diploma or GED with related experience.
Strong electrical/mechanical skills; ability to read schematics and mechanical breakdowns.
3+ years of maintenance supervision (food/supplement environment preferred) and 3–5 years as a maintenance technician.
CMMS experience.
Strong cost management, change management, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
Proven leadership, coaching, and staff-development ability.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to analyze technical data, prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and manage multiple deadlines.
Experience with scheduling, staffing, training, and basic OSHA, HACCP, and cGMP requirements.
Ability to work weekends.
3+ years of maintenance supervision in a food or supplement environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field.
Experience in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
Lean/Six Sigma or project management experience.
Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and controls; Redzone experience a plus.
