Position : Legal Assistant

Location : Westfield, NJ (On-site)

Work Hours : 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm

Duration : Potentially Temp-to-Hire (TTH). Immediate start, with coverage needed until the end of September. 

Dress Code : Business Casual (Jeans on Fridays)

Pay Rate: $32.00/hour

Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support attorneys with various administrative and legal tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal document preparation and light paralegal skills, combined with exceptional general administrative abilities. This role requires proficiency in multitasking, organizing tasks, and working independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys with court filings and other administrative tasks
• Prepare and review legal documents
• Provide support in litigation, transactional, matrimonial, real estate law
• General administrative duties as required
• Serve as a Notary Public
• Provide floating coverage for the office during staff vacations and leaves

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant
• Demonstrated experience in legal document preparation and light paralegal tasks
• Proficiency in multitasking and organizing tasks
• Prior experience in litigation, transactional, matrimonial, and real estate law
• Notary Public certification
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Professional demeanor and strong organizational skills
