Position Title: Junior Software Engineer

Location: Manassas VA (Hybrid - 1-2x per week on-site, otherwise remote)

Clearance Requirement: Secret Clearance (Preferred)

Overview:

We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer with a strong background in Linux environments and expertise in Java Spring, Python, Ansible, and BASH scripting. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for problem-solving, a commitment to high-quality software development, and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Prior Department of Defense (DOD) experience or an active Secret Clearance is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

Develop, test, and maintain software solutions using Java Spring and Python.

Automate deployment and configuration tasks using Ansible.

Write and optimize BASH scripts for system automation and management.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Linux-based systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions.

Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Document software processes and ensure alignment with project requirements.

Support integration with DOD-specific systems and ensure compliance with security protocols.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proficiency in Linux systems administration.

Hands-on experience with Java Spring, Python, Ansible, and BASH scripting.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex software issues.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Prior experience working on DOD-related projects or systems.

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Knowledge of secure software development practices and standards.

$35 - $45 an hour
