Saint Martin's University, an independent four-year, coeducational institution established in 1895 by the Catholic Order of Saint Benedict in Lacey, Washington, is seeking a dedicated Health Educator. Nestled on a scenic 300-acre campus, the university upholds its mission of empowering students through a distinctive blend of faith, reason, and service. Home to more than 1,200 undergraduate and 400 graduate students, Saint Martin's offers a diverse range of 27 majors and ten graduate programs across disciplines including liberal arts, business, education, nursing, and engineering. The Health Educator will play a crucial role in promoting health awareness and education among students, leveraging the university's commitment to holistic development and community significance. The candidate will collaborate closely with faculty and staff to develop comprehensive health education programs, ensuring students thrive academically, physically, and emotionally in a supportive environment that honors both individual sacredness and community significance.
Responsibilities - Develop and implement health education programs and initiatives for students.
- Conduct health assessments and provide individualized health education counseling.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate health education into the academic curriculum.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and events focused on wellness topics including nutrition, mental health, and physical fitness.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of health education programs and initiatives through assessments and feedback.
- Act as a resource for students regarding health-related issues, providing referrals as needed.
- Promote healthy lifestyles and habits through outreach activities and social media engagement.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in health education or a related field.
- Strong understanding of health promotion principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse academic environment.
- Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach.
