Seeking a part-time Personal Trainer position for the Health & Fitness Center at Prince William Sound College located in Valdez, Alaska.
Provides Personal Training services for Health & Fitness Center members. Assesses physical fitness and abilities of clients. Works with clients to identify short-term and long-term goals. Develops individualized health and fitness programming to meet client needs. Teaches safe fitness and exercise techniques and skills, including weight lifting, cardio, body mechanics, cross-training, nutrition, etc. Provides structure, encouragement, and motivation to clients. Monitors client progress; provides positive and constructive feedback as needed. Maintains safety as top priority.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current First Aid/CPR Certification is required.
Personal Trainer Certification by an accredited certification program, such as the American Council on Exercise (ACE), the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), or the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).Position Details:
This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Valdez. This is a part-time, non-exempt staff position. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 76, based on education and experience and a starting rate of $22.62/hour.
