About the Role: This position exists to Identify, negotiate, and implement licensing opportunities and strategic business alliances that are in line with the US Print & Digital organization's long-range goals, as well as manage them throughout their lifecycles. The ideal candidate has experience in legal publishing, strong analytical skills, and the ability to prospect for and collaborate with attorney authors. This position will report to the Sr Director of Alliances and eBook Solutions.
Responsibilities: • Performing and managing corporate development and licensing in a combined role
• Identifying, investigating, evaluating and negotiating acquisitions, licensing opportunities and strategic business alliances
• Conducting appropriate financial due diligence to ensure the reliability of the information provided by third parties
• Developing proposals for new business and licensing opportunities in both new and existing markets
• Analyzing and comparing alternative opportunities for entering new markets and adopting new technologies
• Contributing thought leadership and innovation that influences change and advancement within a strategic area
Requirements: • Experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or related roles within legal technology, software, or professional services.
• Ability to work with colleagues in Editorial, Product Services and Fulfillment, Marketing and Sales to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of alliance products and solutions
• Display excellent communications and negotiation skills
• Show collaboration skills internally and externally to solve complex problems impacting alliance implementation success
• Be able to travel as needed for, and act as spokesperson at partner meetings, industry events, and business development activities.
• Have an MBA, JD, or equivalent advanced degree.
