Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our clients team at an innovative engineering consulting firm. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fire protection design for residential projects, including high-rise buildings, and be proficient in Revit and AutoCAD. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead critical projects and work with a collaborative team on high-profile developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of fire protection systems for residential and high-rise projects, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations.
• Develop fire protection system layouts, including sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire alarms, and smoke control systems, using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform fire protection system calculations and hydraulic analyses.
• Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated and effective fire protection solutions.
• Review and approve fire protection design documentation, technical reports, and project specifications.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate fire protection system installations and verify compliance with design and safety standards.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in fire protection codes, regulations, and technologies.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, providing expert fire protection advice and solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in fire protection engineering design, with a focus on residential and high-rise projects.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for fire protection system design and drafting.
• In-depth knowledge of fire protection codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, etc.).
• Experience in fire protection system calculations, hydraulic calculations, and system integration.
• Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, but not required.
• Certification in fire protection (e.g., CFPE) is a plus.
