The Boys & Girls Club of South Central TX is dedicated to providing a safe and engaging environment where youth can thrive. We offer programs that inspire and empower kids to succeed, develop strong character, and pursue their passions. Our Esports Club for teens is designed to harness the power of gaming and competition to foster teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable  Youth Development Professional (YDP)to lead our  Esports Club for teens. The YDP will be responsible for facilitating esports programs, mentoring participants, and promoting a positive and supportive gaming culture. This individual will create opportunities for teens to develop their skills in popular esports games, while also focusing on personal growth, teamwork, and leadership development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and facilitate esports programming, including practices, scrimmages, and tournaments for teens.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to participants, emphasizing good sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal development.
• Stay current with trends in esports and gaming to keep the program engaging and relevant.
• Assist in planning and executing esports-related events, competitions, and workshops.
• Promote inclusivity and ensure all members feel welcomed and supported.
• Collaborate with other Boys & Girls Club staff to integrate esports activities into the broader youth development framework.
• Ensure a safe and structured environment during all esports-related activities.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with youth in a mentorship, coaching, or instructional role is preferred.
• Strong understanding and experience in one or more popular esports game titles (e.g., League of Legends, Fortnite, Rocket League, Valorant, etc.).
• Passion for gaming and the esports community.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect with teens and foster a positive learning environment.
• Ability to promote inclusivity and build a community-centered atmosphere.
• Familiarity with streaming, online gaming platforms, and related equipment is a plus.
• A commitment to the mission of the Boys & Girls Club and youth development.
