Tzu Chi Elementary School is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary School Mandarin Chinese Teacher to join our vibrant community. Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and informative Chinese language lessons that cater to the varying abilities of students within the elementary age range.

Implement immersive language teaching techniques to enhance students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in Chinese.

Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and tailored instruction to support individual learning needs.

Develop and utilize instructional materials and resources that reflect cultural accuracy and inclusiveness, promoting a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, traditions, and values.

Foster a nurturing, creative, and inclusive classroom environment that supports students' cultural and linguistic development.

Collaborate with English colleagues to create interdisciplinary lessons that integrate language learning with other subject areas.

Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress, general class updates, cultural events, and language learning opportunities.

Incorporate various technological tools and multimodal resources into teaching practices to enhance learning experiences, engage students, and support diverse learning styles.

Provide all necessary documentation related to teaching and learning activities promptly when requested.

Report directly to the School Principal, with a focus on collaboration and professional growth.

Attend and actively participate in school events and activities, as well as professional development opportunities, as determined by school leadership.

Participate in lunch and recess duty, and other duties as assigned.

Promptly check and respond to all professional messages and emails from colleagues, parents, and administration to ensure effective communication and address issues or inquiries.

All other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Chinese Language, or a related field (required).

Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Chinese language teaching (preferred).

Candidates must have native-like written and verbal Chinese skills, as well as foundational English skills, including basic reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension abilities.

Candidates must know traditional Chinese characters.

1-3 years experience teaching Chinese in an elementary school setting is preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
