Summary

This 12-month full-time education department position is responsible for arranging internships for education students at various local public and private schools and collecting and maintaining records of clearance paperwork for these placements. Other duties and responsibilities include providing general administrative support to the department, organizing events, and collaborating with constituents across the community and campus.

Essential Duties

• Secure placements for education students in local schools.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with local districts both formal and informal.
• Write internship request documents for local school boards as needed.
• Collect and maintain state required clearance paperwork from students including FBI and child abuse checks.
• Assist chair with various required reporting requirements to the federal and state governments.
• Serves as a liaison between students and faculty with timely and adequate follow up.
• Supports the Committee on the Teaching Profession.
• Assists with the development of operational procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Accurate record keeping.
• Written communication skills.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Typing fluency.
• Data management and entry skills, including the ability to maintain and improve filing systems.

Preferred

• College degree.
• Background in public education.
