Position Summary:

As the Curriculum Manager, you will lead a dynamic team within the curriculum department, ensuring the successful development and delivery of high-quality educational content in alignment with StrongMind's vision for exceptional online learning. Your role is pivotal in mentoring team members, overseeing professional growth, and contributing to department-wide initiatives. A deep understanding of state and national educational standards, modern curriculum and instructional design principles, and current trends in K-12 education is essential to guide your team in developing innovative and standards-aligned content.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Management, Supervision, and Professional Development:
  • Mentor and foster the professional growth of direct reports and the curriculum team.
  • Collaboratively plan and implement professional development programs that enhance the team's understanding of state and national standards and instructional design best practices.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and performance reviews for team members.
  • Facilitate effective communication of project and department-wide information.
Project and Quality Management:
  • Monitor project quality, ensuring alignment with state and national standards, and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Apply evidence-based educational theories, instructional design best practices, and standards-aligned curriculum development.
  • Collaborate with product owners to plan and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Work closely with Product teams to define and deliver curriculum products that meet the expected specifications and quality standards.
  • Manage risks, adjust priorities, and communicate project status to relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date on current trends in K-12 education and integrate relevant innovations into the curriculum.
Leadership and Process Improvement:
  • Collaborate with leadership to design and monitor development procedures that incorporate current educational trends and standards.
  • Work with Product to ensure curriculum development aligns with the overall product vision and meets the specified requirements.
  • Develop plans for continuous quality improvement in collaboration with cross-functional teams, emphasizing standards alignment and instructional excellence.
  • Identify opportunities for improving StrongMind content based on user data and industry developments
Specific Job Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in learning theories, instructional design models, and standards-based curriculum development.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Project and time management skills with a results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment or work independently.
  • Capability to work with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Aptitude for training and developing team members on both technical and soft skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies with training and support.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Deep understanding of state and national K-12 educational standards.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current trends and innovations in online K-12 education.
  • Ability to navigate and work effectively within complex tools and platforms to develop and manage curriculum content.
Education/Training:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in education, demonstrating a solid understanding of instructional design, effective pedagogy, standards alignment, and curriculum development.
  • K-12 education experience, with a focus on online learning environments.
  • 3+ years of team management experience.
  • Project management experience.
