We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who is looking to take on a leadership role in managing commercial construction projects from conception to completion. Our ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in commercial construction. This position oversees all aspects of the project, including but not limited to, blueprint reading, quality control, budget management, contract negotiation, subcontractor management, construction scheduling, project planning, construction management, construction safety, and materials management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all stages of project life cycle, managing construction projects to ensure they are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Review and interpret project blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine the construction approach, materials needed, and manpower requirements.
  • Manage project budget, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with subcontractors, ensuring that all work is completed according to design and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules, coordinating with all involved parties to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Implement and enforce site safety protocols, ensuring that all staff and subcontractors adhere to safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Coordinate the procurement and delivery of construction materials, ensuring that the right materials are available when needed.
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure project goals are met.
  • Prepare and submit regular project reports, keeping stakeholders informed of project progress and any issues encountered.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction management, with a proven track record of successfully completed projects.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation, with a solid understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
  • Excellent budget management skills, with experience in contract negotiation and subcontractor management.
  • Proficient in construction scheduling and project planning.
  • Experience with AIA contract documents is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in construction software programs.
  • OSHA certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
