Job Summary

We are a coach bus company looking for a skilled Diesel Bus Mechanic to join our bus garage. As a Bus Mechanic, you will assist our customers by running electrical diagnostics on commercial coach buses and repairing issues with vehicles’ performance and function.

As a Bus Mechanic, you must have an in-depth understanding of all vehicle systems and components. You will also be responsible for maintaining repair shop equipment, and maintaining a welcoming environment. 

The ideal candidate is skilled in communicating with others, able to explain vehicle issues clearly and concisely and provide valuable advice. Willing to travel as needed to our Great Barrington garage as well.

 

Responsibilities 

• Diagnose and repair buses coming into the garage
• Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements
• Conduct in-depth bus inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and airbrakes
• Create repair timelines and convey information to owners in an easy-to-understand manner
• Maintain accurate shop records and paperwork
• Ability to train others to assist 
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Associate degree or completion of an Diesel Mechanic training program is preferred
• Strong communication skills are required
