We are looking for a meticulous and motivated Cash Application Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will play a key part in managing accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy in cash application, and maintaining organized records for audit purposes. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong analytical skills and a proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities:
• Process and accurately post daily cash receipts, including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card payments.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, ensuring proper allocation and coding.
• Reconcile cash receipts with accounts receivable records and address outstanding issues with relevant stakeholders.
• Identify and correct unapplied or misapplied cash payments to maintain accurate records.
• Ensure audit readiness by maintaining organized and accurate documentation of cash application activities.
• Collaborate with accounting and customer service teams to resolve account-related inquiries.
• Support month-end closing procedures by completing tasks related to accounts receivable and cash application.
• Monitor and improve cash management processes to enhance operational efficiency.
• Provide insights and recommendations for streamlining cash application workflows.• At least 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or cash application roles.
• Proficiency in handling ACH transactions, credit card payments, and other cash activities.
• Strong knowledge of reconciliation processes and payment allocation.
• Familiarity with business-to-business (B2B) collections and resolving payment discrepancies.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders.
