We're looking for AI/ML/DS Engineering Interns to join our engineering team. Reporting to an Engineering manager, you'll be responsible for:
Working on machine learning models to classify, analyze, and protect sensitive data.
Collaborating with engineers and data scientists to develop AI-powered tools for incident management and detection.
Designing and implementing algorithms that enhance system efficiency and performance.
Diving into real-world projects like data protection, telemetry, and automated observability tools.
What We're Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
Rising Sophomore or Junior actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field in progress
Strong programming skills in Python or R, with familiarity in machine learning libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and statistical methods.
Experience working with large datasets using SQL or NoSQL databases.
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Hands-on experience with natural language processing (NLP) or large language models (LLMs).
Familiarity with visualization tools for presenting insights, such as Tableau or Matplotlib.
Previous experience in developing automated testing or observability frameworks.
Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Example Projects You Might Work On
Design a machine learning model for sensitive data classification and anomaly detection.
Develop AI-powered tools to automate runbooks for incident management and response.
Implement advanced analytics dashboards to enhance system observability and telemetry.
Experiment with large language models (LLMs) for secure data insights and classification tasks.
Build automated frameworks for testing and optimizing machine learning algorithms.

Zscaler's salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
Base Pay Range
$25-$50 USD
